Design by the Jonathans was established and grown to what it is today in Connecticut, but we’ve spent so much time working with fantastic clients in Westchester County that we went ahead and made a big decision:

To ensure that we’re serving our Westchester clients at the absolute highest possible level, Design by the Jonathans just opened up a branch in Harrison, NY!

Becoming Part of the Local Community

So, what does the new studio mean? Functionally, it means that we’ll have a home base that serves all of Westchester County with ease, but at the core of it, it means that we’re putting down new roots.

While we’re extremely proud of our Connecticut base and continue to maintain a full presence there, opening a new branch in Harrison allows us to connect locally. As the branch grows, we’ll anticipate hiring designers who live in Westchester and support your local community.

Westchester is a very diverse landscape in terms of homes and clientele. Styles range from classic Colonial and Tudor all the way through high modern, depending on the town and neighborhood. But what we’ve found is that our Westchester clients do not want to compromise on quality—quality of design, quality of product, quality of implementation, and, very importantly, quality of experience.

Design by the Jonathans is known for our ability to deliver all of these important factors throughout Connecticut, so bringing all of it to Westchester directly seems like an excellent next step.

Already at Work in the Neighborhood: A Contemporary Home Transformation

We’ve completed multiple projects in Westchester throughout the years, and so many of them have been real standouts. Our Westchester clients are not afraid to go bold in so many different ways, so long as we stay true to their style and directives.

This holds especially true for our newly-completed project in Harrison, which spans a kitchen, dining room, and living room. Our client’s home had modern styling and good bones, but needed a contemporary update—not sleek, but textured and nuanced, and above all extremely high quality.

A custom partial graywash cabinetry finish combined with curved reeded doors on the corners of the kitchen island, an abundance of Taj Mahal quartzite, a fantastic high-end appliance package, and wonderful brass fixtures and accents elevate the kitchen to a true masterpiece of warm contemporary style.

The use of tambour accents and monumental light fixtures in the living room and dining room elevate those spaces to the level of the kitchen while taking advantage of their large vaulted ceilings and central stone fireplace column. The spaces are different yet cohesive, contemporary yet warm, and beautiful yet functional.
